Blero steps forward, pushing Erida to the side. She gives him a sharp look; I sense that Blero had not seen it. But I did and it sent shivers down my spine, you could see that hair rising from my arms and the back of my neck.

"But for what exactly?" He turns to Erida, she has a passive aggressive look on her face, that smile is not what is seems.
"Ruth, we are trying to fight 'Roger's Elite', it's a very nasty organization. They 'own' many women who never see the outside world. They 'breed' them, hoping that the child will have the gene. We have no idea if they have succeeded or not, but they also have competitions, the winner 'owns' the girl who gets to her first. It's not a very good place to be." I stare at them, I heard those three guys talk about 'Roger's Elite' and Blero had already explained a little about it.
"Why don't they leave?"
"That is the thing Ruth," says Blero as he has his turn to explain, "When they 'claim' you, you feel loyal to them. Not matter what they do, you feel loyal to them. Sometimes the weaker girls can be seduced into being claimed." I stare into the ground, trying to focus through the confusion.
"How do you claim, exactly" I ask as I look up at Blero, 'how did he claim me?' But Erida whispers harshly into Blero's ear 'she is not ready to know, you know you shouldn't have lied to her' she smiles as she looks at me. She knows that I have not been claimed properly, that I am still 'open season'. She also knows that if Blero claimed me, he would have some feelings toward me.
"No! I want to know now!" I say sternly as my teeth begin to grind automatically, my hands becoming fists.

No need to get all upset now, you know exactly how," then suddenly she kicked the back of my knee to make it buckle and then she grabs my hair and then shoves my head near a gutter, "You just need to think in the gutter" she says as her nails dig in the back of my head. I growl through the pain and slowly turn around and punch her square in the mouth. She falls on her ass with a shocked but angry look on her face. I begin to wonder why Blero has not saved me yet.
"That is because I am dominating you like females in a pack would, I am going to teach you your place. He won't help you, if anything he would go against you" I look at her with curiosity. How exactly did she know what I was thinking? But before that question got answered Erida grabs my head and bangs it against a concrete wall with a crack as I fall onto the ground with a slump.
"She really should know her place, you know what she calls you inside her head? Blero" She says with a laugh as she wraps her arm around Blero as I lay there unconscious.
"It's not a bad name actually" Blero replies
"I think it means 'black hero,' she begins to laugh, "Actually it suits you Roger".
